  • Mechanical engineering department has successfully implemented a course on Engineering Graphics with AutoCAD for F.Y. B.Tech (Autonomous course) in academic year 2011-12.
  • A team of 5 members "Techno-Gram" has bagged Excellent Award in National level 26th National Convection on Quality Concepts (NCQC-2012) organized by Quality Circle Forum of India, Kanpur Chapter on 17th to 20th December, 2012

Year 2015 - 16

  1. Dr. Martand Telsang Received Gunavant Shikshak Award 2015 from Shivaji University on University Foundation day
  2. Dr. Sachin K. Patil, HOP, M.Tech. (Mechanical-Production) has received “Special Research Award” in Productivity Contest of 57th National Convention of IIIE and 3rd International Conference on Industrial Engineering at SVNIT Surat.
  3. Prof Dr. S.M Sawant elected as Fellow member of Institution of Engineers (India) Kolkataon 31st July 2016.
  4. Prof. M.V. Kavade and Prof. S. B. Khot have completed “International Engineering Educator Certification Program - 2015 ” of 6 months duration conducted by IUCEE-IGIP
  5. Prof. P. S. Jadhav has completed “Integrating Projects and Design into Core Engineering Courses-2015” of 6 months duration conducted by IUCEE.

Year 2014 -15

  1. Prof. Sharad D. Patil awarded Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. The title of thesis is “Theoretical Studies on Metal Hydride based Systems for Hydrogen Storage and Water Pumping”.
  2. Prof. Sachin K. Patil awarded Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering by Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology(SVNIT), Surat. The title of thesis is “Study of Knowledge Management Adoption in Supply Chain by Fussy MCDM Approaches”.

 

Other Notable Activities in the Department:

  1. Hybrid Go Cart Challenge 2015: This is national level competition, in which RIT Mechanical department students secured 2nd rank. 
    Students: 1] Vicky Shravane   2] Sujit Mane.
  2. John-Deere Techno Champ 2014: This is the All India innovation contest organized by John-Deere, Pune. Team of RIT Mechanical Engineering Department won the first prize under Open Innovation Section of Rs. 50,000 & Certificates.
    Title of Project: Innovative Cooling System without Radiator.

  3. In Go-kart Design challenge (GKDC 2015) organized by ISNEE (Indian society of new era of engineering) held at Coimbatore in Feb 2016, Team Luftwaffe, students of SY and TY B.Tech from Mechanical department, achieved 14th rank in all over India, Also secured 3rd rank in Autocross as well as Aesthetic. 
  4. Students from Mechanical department have received best experimental award for one act play at PuroshottamKarandak Event.
  5. Students from TY BTech secured 2nd rank in Karforce event at state level competition.
  6. Departmental Kabbadi team has secured 3rd place in National level competition “Summit 2k15” at MIT, Pune.
