Congratulations to Prof M.V. Pisal, Mechanical Engineering Department for the sanctioning of the proposal “Biodegradable Plastic Manufacturing" by Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission (RGSTC Maharashtra). This proposal was submitted under the scheme "Assistance for Science and Technology Applications" and the grant of Rs 53,62,715 has been sanctioned for this proposal out of which Rs 30,00,000 are released as the first installment. 
The broader objectives of the project are to make 100 % biodegradable plastic carry bags using natural polymers in an affordable and eco friendly way; to develop a commercially viable product to create sustainable packaging solution; to develop a process to manufacture efficient and effective production of nanomaterials as an additive in biodegradable fillers to reduce the cost of existing biodegradable plastics by 30 to 50% ; to make the cost effective biodegradable 3-D printing filament and to tackle the global plastic problem for the betterment of mankind.
Congratulations to Prof Lokesh.R. Patil, Mechanical Engineering Department for the sanctioning of the proposal “Automatic Weld Grinding Robot for Piping Application" by Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission (RGSTC Maharashtra).
 
This proposal was submitted under the scheme "Assistance for Science and Technology Applications" and a grant of Rs 20,00,000 has been sanctioned for this proposal. 
 
The broader objective of the project is to design and develop robot which will be able to grind weld crown inside the seam pipe. The robot will be able to grind straight and circular seam inside the pipe. The robot has wide application in nuclear power plants, coating industries, steel pipe manufacturing industries etc.

Rajarambapu Institute of Technology, Sangli has been selected for National Innovation Challenges arranged by ATAL Incubation Center-SKU. 
 
In the process of bringing smart solutions to mitigate the crop damage by wild animals, Atal Incubation Centre – Sri Krishnadevaraya University (AIC-SKU) in partnership with WWF - India had organized National Innovation Challenge 3.0 with a problem statement of Rakshak 2.0. on 15th December 2020. Together AIC-SKU team and WWF - India constituted as panel and shortlisted 9 innovative ideas for pitching on 15th December 2020. All the 9 ideas, prototypes, products were virtually pitched by the shortlisted teams to the panel members. 
 
Among these, Four Models (ideas/prototypes/products) are selected to work with AIC-SKU &WWF- India.

PROTECTO 360

 

1) Prof. Rohit Magdum has got first Prize in Altair Optimization Contest 2021 (AOC 2021) in the multi-domain expert faculty category and he will be awarded with Rs. 25,000/- cash voucher & certificate. 

2) Mr. Chaitanya Khandare (T.Y. B.Tech Mechanical) secured 1st Prize in Chemical/Mining student category and he will be awarded  with Rs. 20,000/- cash voucher & certificate.

This was a national-level competition organized by Altair company for students and faculties all over India. This was around 4 months long competition which included webinars, Q & A sessions, certification and at the end participants were given an individual problem statements to which software-based solution was required to be submitted within stipulated time.
