Over more than three decades, RIT has created an enviable image among engineering institutes in India. RIT focuses on policy of imparting quality education to students through involvement & empowerment of our faculty with the ultimate aim of student satisfaction. At the same time, we lay equal emphasis on research and knowledge creation. We have 46 patents registered today and 6 products commercialized.
We realize the responsibility of transforming a XII class student into a professional engineer within a period of four formative years. Hence, we ensure that the students should gain not just technical knowledge but also develop a holistic set of skills equipping them to face the real world. We have attracted young and accomplished Faculty, who guide and monitor students in their academic, research, sports & cultural pursuits. An underlying priority is to instill in our students the commitment to their goals along with integrity and concern for the environment and rural society they live in.
Institute is successfully running academic autonomy awarded by UGC and Shivaji University, Kolhapur. We have introduced choice based curriculum structure (CBCS), Honors and minor scheme, Innovative teaching – learning tools like PBL, Flipped Class room, etc. In RIT, there is lot of emphasis on use of ICT tools to improve quality of education. We have specially designed four choice based verticals in final 8th semester. The students can choose any one vertical i.e. Entrepreneurship development Research experience, Industry Internship and Capstone project as per their future plans. Our students have continuous interaction with Industry through in-plant training, internships and industry based live projects.
We insist that our faculty should continuously upgrade to provide direction for future teaching-learning innovations. RIT has consistently produced excellent results and placements and its alumni can be found in distinguished organizations in India & overseas.
Institute has successfully completed World Bank Project named ‘Technical Education Quality Improvement Program’ (TEQIP II) with a funding of Rs. 6 crore for PG Programs and Research driven by innovation. Institute has ranked 75th in top 100 technical institutes as per NIRF survey conducted by MHRD and AICTE in 2016. Our most of the programs are accredited and reaccredited by NBA, New Delhi and we are NAAC accredited with ‘A’ Grade.
We have started center for innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship development in RIT through NETRA (National ESDM Technology Research Academy). We are selected by Maharashtra Innovation Society, Maharashtra with a funding of Rs. 5 Crore to spearhead the startup movement in RIT, Also we have received 3 Crore funding from Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India. Today we have 8 student startups and 4 External Entrepreneur supported under this program.
