Final Year Placement Policy 2026 Batch onwards
Objective
To streamline and regulate the campus recruitment process and ensure that all final-year students of the Mechanical Engineering Department adhere to a professional and disciplined approach towards placement drives.
1. Placement Registration
- Placement registration will be conducted once at the beginning of the final year (B.Tech).
- Students must register formally to participate in the campus recruitment process.
- The final list of registered students will be shared with companies based on their criteria. No changes will be allowed afterward.
2. Participation in Training Programs
- All registered students must attend pre-placement training programs (technical, aptitude, soft skills, resume-building, mock interviews, etc.).
- Non-attendance without valid reason will lead to debarment from the placement process.
3. Drive Participation
- Once a student’s name is shortlisted for any drive, it is mandatory to attend the recruitment process (including PPT, written test, interview).
- No separate registration will be taken for each drive.
- Students must check regular updates and shortlists through the placement cell or official channels.
4. Absenteeism Policy
- If a student is unable to attend a drive due to valid reasons (medical/personal emergency), they must seek prior written permission from both the Head of Department (HOD) and the Training & Placement Officer (TPO).
- Three absences from placement drives will result in the student being marked as “Not Interested in Placement” and they will be removed from all further placement activities.
- Absenteeism based on reasons such as package offered, job role, company profile, or location preference will not be entertained under any circumstances.
5. Offer Acceptance Rules
- Once a student receives a job offer, it is compulsory to accept and join the organization on the given date. Failure to do so will be treated as a serious breach of conduct.
- Students will be allowed to receive only one Core and one IT offer; however, this is subject to the policy of the first company. If the first company has a restriction on multiple offers, the student will not be allowed to appear for any other drive.
- Exception Clause: If a company offers a package that is double or more than the first offer, the student will be allowed to appear for such a drive, provided: The first company's policy permits it.
- The placement cell approves the participation on a case-by-case basis.
- In all cases, the final decision lies with the Training and Placement Cell.
6. Internship cum Placement Drives
- For companies offering Internship + Placement, students must treat this as a final opportunity, it will be counted as placed.
- It is the student’s responsibility to perform and get converted into a full-time employee.
7. Misconduct and Disciplinary Actions
Any student found indulging in Submitting fake documents, misrepresenting information, engaging in malpractice during any stage of the recruitment process will face strict disciplinary action, which may include Debarment from the placement process, Detention from the current
semester etc.
8. General Guidelines
- Students must maintain professional behaviour and dress code during all company interactions.
- It is the student's responsibility to regularly check emails, WhatsApp groups, and notice boards for drive-related updates.
- Students must keep all documents updated, including resume, transcripts, certificates, etc.
- The placement cell reserves the right to amend or update this policy at any time based on circumstances or company requirements.
