About Us: 

The RIT Central Library is one of the finest institutional libraries in Western Maharashtra, blending modern architecture with a relaxed, reader-friendly environment. It offers a vast collection of 1,45,118 + volumes, 37,773+ titles, 44,515+ reference books, and 38,572+ e-books across engineering, management, and allied fields. The library also supports competitive exam preparation with resources for GATE, TOEFL, MPSC, and more.
With a total investment of ₹5.84 crores, the library subscribes to 167+ print journals, IEEE ASPP, ScienceDirect, DELNET, and other premium e-journal databases, with an annual subscription investment exceeding ₹20.73 lakhs. Tools like Crossref-Turnitin, Grammarly and Typeset further enhance academic and research quality.
Our commitment to excellence has earned us accolades such as the Best Knowledge Resource Center Award (2021) and the Best Library Award (2019) from ISTE, New Delhi.

Library Automation:

The RIT Central Library is fully automated with the latest KOHA (24.05.04) Integrated Library System (ILS), developed by Katipo Communications Ltd., New Zealand. KOHA, a robust open-source solution, enables efficient management of cataloguing, circulation, acquisitions, and serials.
The system features a user-friendly interface and a Web-OPAC for quick and convenient book searches. Bibliographic details of the entire collection are easily accessible through the following links:

RFID TECHNOLOGY FOR SMART LIBRARY MANAGEMENT

The RIT Central Library is equipped with a state-of-the-art RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) system to provide a seamless and secure library experience. This advanced system supports:

• Self Check-in/Check-out: Quick and easy issue and return of books by users.
• Access Control Door: Secure entry and exit for authorized students and faculty.
• Security Gates: Enhanced theft prevention and improved safety of library resources.
• E-Attendance: Automatic recording of student and faculty visits for accuracy and efficiency.
• Footfall Tracking: Real-time monitoring of visitor statistics to improve library services and planning.

 

INSTITUTIONAL REPOSITORY – DSPACE

The RIT Central Library hosts an Institutional Repository using DSpace to archive and provide access to scholarly works, research data, and institutional publications.
