About The Department

Computer Science & Engineering

The Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) program started in the year 1999. The course is designed to award four year B. Tech degree. The B.Tech. The program is innovatively designed to cater to global demands and offers balanced coverage of hardware and software systems. The course is an outcome-based structured design to help students to achieve the goal. Department of Computer Science and Engineering has started this PG Program in the year 2011. In the current scenario of various computing devices, the importance of efficient computing with resource optimization is becoming more and more relevant. The need for advancements in architecture and integrating computer hardware, software, algorithms, data management, simulation etc is being increasingly felt. It is in this context this program assumes relevance.

Our department offers a comprehensive suite of programs, including B.Tech in Computer Engineering and M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. These programs are aimed at fostering innovation, critical thinking, and continuous learning, empowering students to navigate and adapt to the rapidly advancing technological landscape.
Our faculty comprises highly qualified and experienced professionals who are dedicated to guiding and mentoring students toward academic and career excellence. The academic framework is meticulously crafted to establish strong fundamentals and impart advanced concepts. It includes exposure to cutting-edge research and industry-relevant technologies. The curriculum integrates an entrepreneurial approach to skill development, nurturing future leaders in the dynamic tech industry. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art computing infrastructure and places strong emphasis on practical knowledge and real-world applications. Every theoretical course includes hands-on practical sessions, and students actively engage in project-based learning to solve real-life problems. This approach fosters problem-solving and implementation skills essential for professional success.
We have strong collaborations with leading companies through active MoUs with Red Hat, TCS, Infosys, Intel, Aneka Cloud, and KPIT. These partnerships provide students with opportunities for internships, specialized training, and industry-sponsored projects. Our GPU Education Center, established in collaboration with NVIDIA, and the Apple Education Centre of Excellence offer advanced training in High-Performance Computing (HPC) and iOS app development. The department is also recognized as a research center for PhD programs. Our research spans key areas such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Blockchain Technologies. Students benefit from research internships at premier institutions like DRDO, BARC, NIT Surathkal, and Chang Gung University, Taiwan, gaining valuable exposure to advanced research environments.
The department actively encourages academic exchange programs, such as our collaboration with Malaya University, Malaysia. We are also privileged to welcome renowned experts like Dr. Rajkumar Buyya from the University of Melbourne and Dr. Shivakumar from Malaya University, who frequently visit our campus to share their valuable insights and experiences with both students and faculty.
